Le Pérou, plus accessible que jamais

« C’est pas le Pérou ? »
Eh bien OUI, c’est le Pérou!

Grâce aux nouveaux vols sans escale d’Air Canada de Montréal vers Lima, le Pérou est plus accessible que jamais.

Comme bien des voyageurs, on y va surtout pour le Machu Picchu, mais que de belles surprises nous attendent !

D’abord, la capitale Lima, une ville propre, avec sa longue promenade spectaculaire en bord de mer et ses superbes édifices coloniaux aux couleurs pastel immaculées.

Puis la vallée de Colca avec son profond canyon, ses cultures en terrasses, ses villages typiques et son site d’observation des condors unique au monde !

On poursuit vers le Lac Titicaca avec ses îles flottantes faites de roseaux.

Vient ensuite la traversée de l’Altiplano au paysage semi-désertique parsemé de troupeaux de lamas et d’alpagas et qui offre de belles échappées sur les pics enneigés de la Cordillère des Andes.

Pour enfin arriver à Cuzco, LE rendez-vous de tous les visiteurs. Une ville à taille humaine, avec sa magnifique place centrale, sa somptueuse cathédrale et son grand choix d’hôtels et de restaurants. Depuis Cuzco, on accède à divers sites Inca tous aussi impressionnants les uns que les autres en périphérie de la ville et le long la Vallée Sacrée.

Et le clou du spectacle, le Machu Picchu. WOW! Ça valait le voyage. Non seulement le site Inca le plus complet et le mieux préservé, mais son emplacement en crête de montagne entouré de pitons verdoyants est à couper le souffle, un des plus beaux qu’il m’ait été donné de voir en 40 ans de voyages.

Et hop, un petit vol vers la réserve de Puerto Maldonado en forêt amazonienne:  végétation luxuriante, arbres géants, cours d’eau et lacs peuplés de loutres, de caïmans, de perroquets et autre faune tropicale.

Bref, pour un premier voyage en Amérique du Sud, le Pérou, une belle surprise sur toute la ligne!
